There are certainly some songs I'm willing to pay for...
I'd pay a good 40$ just to be able to listen to that without it taking up my data. Why would I pay so much? Because music is something special to me. I find it to be deeply spiritual, and I feel closer to the universe when I hear the right song. I don't know why exactly, but music is one of, if not the, most important things to me. I believe that everything can be expressed with a sound, so music is the best art form. It creates pictures, takes you on a journey, fills your soul with wonder. Nothing has touched me as much as a beautiful song has. And when I listen to just the soundtrack for Halo 4, I almost cry. I can see the barren plains, the unscaleable cliffs, feel the wind blow against my skin, taste the energy in the air.

Uh... I admit I'd pay for concerts and really good albums. But single songs? I'd be spending too much money. I understand paying $8-$10 in an album with 12 songs, but not $1-$2 on one song I'll eventually get tired of and delete. I think I have better things to do with my money.
Now, I know artists need to obtain profits. I'd gladly buy their albums, or even buy merchandise. But buy stuff from iTunes or something? Nah
Edit: obviously if it moves you like that, you buy the shit out of the song. I just meant songs that are average or something.

Part of the reason I think songs should be free is because they move me like this. Everyone should have equal and free access to music so they can possibly feel the way I do. I would merely "nuy" a song as a thank you to the artist for craft an especially beautiful piece of art.

Yeah, I think artists should get their money from concerts, merchandise, albums, and special events. Free songs would just bolster their popularity and even give the legal system a break; now cops and judges can spend their time with real criminals and not some dude who doesn't want to pay $2 for a song he'll enjoy for a month

Precisely. I don't think publishing companies need to even exist. They take a big chunk of the profits, and artists honestly don't need them. If an artist truly needed them, I guess they could take a share of the merchandise and album profits, since they're organizing that, but nothing from singles. Like I said, it would be more beneficial to everyone if singular songs were free.

Hey hey! I just noticed that! Nice
I like rap, but it has to be good. I mean, the kind of rap that has lyrics that make sense and sound good, none of the pop stuff or the fake gangster songs.

After hanging out with my wannabe gangsta' cousins for 24+ hours, I can confidently say that I hate the rap you described and the culture around it. It's like they're having a competition of how bad of a person you can be.

I really hate that "gangsta" swag subculture. I can honestly say they are the most annoying and ignorant of all the groups in the school I went to.
I have modern warfare 2, but I don't play it that much because nobody has it... I'm more focused on whatever multiplayer is out now. (What is it?)
