I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's a sort of brownish alcoholic beverage. I think it's a form of beer. Which are you reading, game of thrones or the hedge knight? And hey, when I go over there it'd be great to have some knowledge beforehand, so thanks

Admin, you are amazing for having read (and liked) the hedge knight. Sir Duncan the Tall is one of the most realistic heroes I've read. He's not particularly good at fighting, his moral sense is good natured but a bit cowardly, but he has a great character and sense of justice. I enjoyed seeing his development into a skilled, brave man that was loyal to his allies and fair to his enemies.

I didn't say I managed to finish it. The author really should just never write again, Twilight was essentially a badly written fanfic about vampires and humans or something.

Urban, not to be that guy, but you really shouldn't judge an aouthor because of one series. Would you want someone looking at one of your lesser-quality drawings and declaring that you should never draw again? I read "The Host", which was by the author who wrote Twilight, and it was good. It was mostly drama, and some parts weren't the best. But I found the idea behind it very well formulated and realized.

I wasn't aware she wrote other stuff. I'll try it if I find it, but no promises.

My friend introduced me to Rot & Ruin and Unwind like a year ago. Anyone heard of them?

Unwind is excellent. It's one of my favorite books ever. Rot and Ruin sucked. It's one of the worst books ever.

I haven't heard of Unwind but Rot and Ruin is basically World War Z for kids. It teaches you a bunch of moralistic garbage and tells you that people are the true monsters, not zombies. Technically, that is a great idea. But the author handled it so badly, it was as if anyone not the MC or his friends was a barbarian. And then there's just the childishness of the whole thing, I really didn't enjoy how it felt like a kid writing out his vision of a perfect apocalypse.
Tl;dr: Rot and Ruin is for kids
