Link to the reddit submission: Riot Game IdeaHi everyone. I am working on a game that incorporates protests/riots, where you gather like-minded people, protest against an idea/act (could be a real life conflict: Gaza, Ukraine, etc.). You control the crowd, from building protest signs to making molotov cocktails. The police would also have lines according to how much threat you seem to impose. Strategy and choice making is essential, as each side has a morale system (in real life police/civilians can rout and flee). You don't even have to stop there, you can continue on and create an entire revolution (hoping to implement that as well). So what I am having trouble on is the concept and how it will work. One person (urbanknight4) on reddit suggested that I create a strategy/rpg type of game with an isometric view. I recently played A Dark Room, and I really like the text-box style. It is simple to make, yet has an effect on the person playing. If anyone has any ideas I am more than happy to hear them, and I am also looking for artists/developers to work on this with. Thanks!

Yeah, I'd like to see XCOM-like strategy in there. Sure, you can riot and go all out, but sometimes guerrilla warfare or something works well.

I'm a fan of guerilla warfare myself, and I think that it has been implemented in real life riots, and should be implemented in-game as well. Perhaps a detection meter like in far cry 3, and you can sneak around causing havoc to enemy-operated buildings (arson, loot, etc).
How would you like to see the game though? For instance: top-down, isometric, text-box, .... (note: can't do 3d).

I like this idea, but I'm not sure how it would work. It could either be total war style RTS, or guerrilla warfare. The problem with RTS total war style is that 1. You are leading civilians, not military units, 2. It's kind of weird to treat a riot as if it were an organized battle, and 3. The cops are better equipped and armed. Guerrilla warfare sounds nice, but it defeats the whole purpose of a riot- a wild, chaotic release of the people's pent up anger. Maybe change the name from "riot" to "resistance" or something?
And make an account, dude. You can't receive notifications or PMs until you do

So, this thread looks like it flopped and died. Should I provide more advice, or is Betterfudge not coming back?
