I'm gonna make it quick: Light wanted to kill criminals but slowly became one himself, not feeling compassion or remorse or any sort of love for anyone. He became a monster, and he failed to see that. |

They talk about this technique in Bakuman. It's serious humor- stuff that is supposed to be serious but ends up making people laugh. If you can pull it off intentionally, you would be a really good writer.

Yeah, it's a pretty realistic scenario, though. That's what I love about Ohba and Obata. Those guys took a real world and dropped something unreal- a perfect work of magical realism. |
