The reason why my PC needs a good graphics card is to render the massive amounts of polygons in my meshes. Another is to even model the meshes. My laptop froze when I pulled up an airplane mesh with minimum polygons It broke my heart, mang

I get maybe 30 FPS when playing an old version of Minecraft, on sinlge player. But if I play like 1.6.4, with around 20 mods (which isn't a lot, trust me), I get about 10 to 15 with occasionaly freezing.

The game wasn't made very well and so it'll have weird problems. I can run Civilization 4 with DLC and a couple mods perfectly in my crappy laptop, but I can't even build a house on Minecraft before the bugger starts lagging

The Minecraft insult aside, it runs well on most laptops. Maybe not top performance, but it's pretty good. And I remeasured, I get around 16 FPS with 18 mods installed if I stay within a certain area. And I know some games run better than Minecraft, I can play Spore with all settings on high and only get the occasional spike in lag.

It may not be very optimized because Java, but I'm pretty sure that saying that the graphics card doesn't directly affect performance isn't true.

Civ 4 is old, not exactly graphic intensive, and isn't running on Java. Minecraft renders a whole lot of stuff at once, and is using Java.

And mods don't help. With realistic science mods, your CPU has to do a LOT of extra work (math/calculations). And some models for mods have hundreds of polygons.

So my cousin took me out to Disney world. We first went to Epcot, where we discovered theres a store where coca cola gives away free foreign sodas. I discovered a Japanese vegetable soda, VegitaBeta, and it actually tastes better than it sounds. After that we went to animal kingdom and rode on Everest, where I cried like a small girl at the thought of falling off the train.
I think this birthday was good, it's a nice way to start the 18th year.

Today was my first day in college. It was a nice experience, but to be honest, some people aren't meant to be teachers. I only liked my art teacher because she was quiet, she was calm and didnt try too hard to make us like her. I like that, it means actual teaching will happen, but the teacher is still a cool person. Then you have the obnoxious blabbermouths that think they're stand up comedians, or the overly happy, cheerleader-on-crack types. They distract me from work and make me cringe every time they spout off another dumb joke.
Ok, rant over. I love college, it makes you feel awesome. But everything can't be perfect, and my teachers prove it. I know they're good people and mean well, but I'd rather not listen to them for 2 hours every day.
