Apartment=no shoveling snow and snow=no insolent heat like down in this swamp people call Florida I love how people up here say if they had enough money they'd move down to Florida and you're saying the exact opposite. I was never aware people in Florida wanted to go to a colder place. Seriously though, if you move up here prepare for a shock. Your average temperature is ~20°C in the winter and ours is -15°C. In the summer our average temperature is 20°C (which is perfect to me) and in Florida it's 30°C. It may not seem like much of a deference, but trust me, it is. Also. So. Much. Snow.

Florida is the sweaty shoe of the world. I like the cold, being warm after being cold is a great feeling. I'd live somewhere more south/Warmer than say, PEI or Moncton, which I've been to. As for the snow, I'd live in a complex where people are hired to do stuff like that. I mean, if anything, I'll move to England. I don't know how to deal with snow, but rain is fine.

Urban, why do you want communism? Also I need to ask which side you go then. what side are you talking about? If its capitalism vs communism I'm not too sure. I like capitalism, but as an early system used for growing nations. As the nation becomes richer and more organized, the government needs to regulate more things and prevent the citizens from infringing each other's rights and such, and give new enterprises a chance (socialism). After that, it's up to the people. Are they responsible and stable enough for Communism? In order to have it, people need to understand it. It's not about restricting freedom or anything, it's about minimizing social class gaps, feeding the poor and keeping the rich in line, making sure the means to production are public (meaning that monopolies can't be formed) and stuff like that. My interpretation of Communism is different than what it is, but I think it's a better version than what Stalin had (everyone earns the same) and a closer thing to what Marx wanted (opportunity and equality for all, not just a select few) Ah, that's the good way to use communism.

Heh heh I love Canada. If I can find a decent apartment in Toronto or Vancouver, I'm definitely moving there. Apartment=no shoveling snow and snow=no insolent heat like down in this swamp people call Florida Why not just move to a middle state like, my home state, Missouri? It gets really cold here in the winter, and hot in the summer. Hottest in an average summer: 100 degrees Fahrenheit Coldest in average winter: -20 degrees Fahrenheit Besides those extremes, we have very moderate weather with a lot of rain during transition months (months where we change from winter to spring or summer to fall). And we only really need to worry about tornadoes and the occasional light quake. Plus we have lots and lots and lots of beautiful countryside that really symbolizes America. But back on subject: I think governments even out at round socialism. I like to think of socialism with this example: Socialism is like living with roommates. You all contribute eaqually to the rent, and you all contribute equally to the chores. Capitalism is like one roommate doing all of the chores and paying both the other roommate and most of the rent. While making min. wage. Communism is like everyone doing equal shares of work, regardless of quality of work or other variables like health.

I don't think so, i.m.o contrary to Socialism, Capitalism gives to the individual the choice to do whatever he wants with his money as he prefers and doesn't redistribute this money to others. Socialism profits to lazy people as he redistributes the wealth created by the one who creates it to those who doesn't.
Just imagine 3 roommates with one of them working for the 2 others ( paying from his pocket all the 2 others's expenses), that is exactly what represents socialism. Capitalism gives the choice to this working one to not to live with the 2 others.

Just imagine 3 roommates with one of them working for the 2 others ( paying from his pocket all the 2 others's expenses), that is exactly what represents socialism. Capitalism gives the choice to this working one to not to live with the 2 others. Socialism done right does not redistibute wealth. Sweden is a prime example of Socialism done wrong. I think Socialism should be a generally free markt except for necessary services and with restrictions on all things: Hospitals and schooling should be public, as well as university systems, and there should be regulations on things like airlines and fast food chains to prevent poor worker conditions and faulty products. There should also be laws in place to prevent hostile takeovers, buyouts, and monopolies. Too much power in one set of hands can lead to a bad market, and Socialism can prevent that. Another thing that really bugs me is programmed obsolescence. This little idea is basically making products with the intention of making them have short useable lives. Why do your printer ink jets last so little? Planned Obsolescence. Why does your iPhone break so easily and the battery last so little? Planned obsolescence. This concept makes people break/make their stuff useless faster so they will buy more to replace it. It is the ultimate Capitalist ideal, and it is greed embodied. I think that some elements of Capitalism are good, like hard work and freedom for everyone, but some are bad, such as greed and the strongest always wins.
