One of my friends recommended I watch Hellsing. It looks pretty violent, so I dunno about trying it. Is it worth it?

It's extremely good. Watch it. You really won't regret it; it's really fun to watch and is actually quite deep when you get into it

I'm of the opinion that the manga is better. It's a bit longer and makes more sense, chronologically. But overall, Hellsing is amazing. I really recommend it, it has some of the best action scenes I've seen in a manga.

I thought Alucard's Zero restraint mode was so badass. If I had his power, man.... I mean, he's literally a one man army, and he grows bigger and more powerful with every kill

He's much better than both Vlad the Impalers (Servant Lancer) in the Fate Series.

Is this another anime? And wait. Why is Alucard even following Hellsing? What kind of monstrous power did Van Hellsing have to defeat him??

Then I must find that page. Also I know a doujin for this, but this doujin is made on a Hentai Site. Which means I must Spoiler Tag it. I'll let you know when I found it back.

..while im already here, i could not help seeing you two talking 'bout Alucard. Alucard got "defeated" 3 times: first time when he was still human and got defeated normally, second time when he was Dracula and got defeated as detailed in bram Stoker#s Dracula, and third time in Hellsing by giving him the blood of a guy name Schrödinger whose power it was o be "everywhere and nowwhere", and since he couldnt recognize himself within all the other souls Alucard ate (sucking blood for him means absorbing the person's soul, he can use the absorbed soul as an extra-life, or use their powers, or summon the actual person as an undead), he went to be nowwhere". He came back 20 years later though. So yeah he never got killed off completely and probably never will now that he's mastered Schrödinger's power.

That's pretty awesome. But I didn't think Hellsing followed Bram Stoker to the letter; I thought Hellsing subdued Alucard through some weird superpowered thing
