So I'm sure you guys have heard about the Quinnspiracy and Gamergate. The feminazi movement is getting really annoying, targeting games, comics, and other things completely irrelevant to feminist theory. I'm not going to go into a rant here because I honestly don't care about these people. If they want to scream and shout and make baboons of themselves, I'll let them.
The problem lies when they actively attack our way of life, and threaten to actually change it.
Obviously they won't influence big companies like Rockstar and Bethesda, nor will anybody with an ounce of sense care about them. The problem lies with the indie developers and the comic artists that are desperately looking for an audience and credibility. With this movement going on and game reviewing sites, independent artists may be less willing to make a great product in order to not tick off these people.
Let's think about Santa Monica, with the God of War series. Once upon a time, these guys were indie devs, small and unknown. Would they have been so daring to make God of War with this kind of atmosphere? Well, probably, yes. But it would get a ton of bad press. More that it got normally, and most of it undeserved. With game reviewers corrupt, you can pretty much see how it could have made things rough for them.
So anyways, today there have been a bunch of threads in 4chan that talk about how moot is conspiring with Quinn and friends. Again, I wouldn't really care what moot does since I don't use 4chan all the time. But let me illustrate the problem:
In Reddit, people that talked bad about Quinn got banned, and the threads where the topic was discussed were deleted. Hundreds of comments, gone because Quinn and her happy little snowflakes have friends in the moderating community in Reddit.
An apparently they're friends with 4chan's mods, too.
This is a low blow for 4chan. Their most hated enemies are now taking over their home, and stripping them of the very thing that makes the site unique- the freedom to ssay whatever the heck they want, and to discuss anything.
Here is a thread that I got from 4chan that summarizes what I said:
(sorry about the image size, and if I'm wrong about Santa Monica, I hope that at least you got the point I'm trying to make.)
