Mizu and I were thinking of something to do for our first project, and a simple adventure game came to mind. Imagine that the major countries of the world have exploded in conflict, and ICBM's dot the sky. After the nuclear holocaust, very few places remain irradiated and untouched. You are a survivor, barely making it to an underground bunker outside the blast range before the bombs struck. However, you're still in great danger. Nuclear fallout is in the air, and a few lungfuls can cook you from the inside.
The goal of the game is to escape the fallout zone in an old, barely functional car, and make it alive to a safe zone you heard about before the bombs fell.
There are many features in the game: random bandit raids, your car breaking down, meeting survivors, etc.
We need a small group of artists and programmers for this project. It won't pay, but if it becomes good enough to ship we'll try to market it and go on a rev share system.
Comments, anyone?

(insert appropriate meme here) You have my digital-brush! I will help IF I don't get picked for a bunch of other projects. Right now I've only applied for one (besides this), but that might change.

This sounds pretty cool. I assume you're drawing influences from Fallout and Organ Trail?

I'll be glad to be part of it (as programmer), what technology have you think about ?

He's referring to an actual game called "Organ Trail" It's basically Oregon Trail except with cars and zombies instead of wagons and settlers.
And yes, you're right, doc lol. We're going for something like that; maybe we'll see what to do with the backstory.

Well, we'll see what to do, but for now I'm going to begin throwing concepts out there- will this be similar aesthetically to organ trail, or will we have a different look? It all depends. I don't want to create a clone, either, so we'll have to come up with new ideas.

I sadly haven't played that game, so I can't even take inspiration from it. And you already know the problem I'm going to have with this, right?

I'm sure by the time we get a team ready and we have all the concepts done, either you'll be knowledgeable or we'll find someone to cover what you can't do.

Alright, I'll do my best to learn as quickly as possible. I'm done with volunteering next week, so I'll finally be able to dedicate some time to this.

Mizu, as I understand it, you are learning how to program. (Obviously) And I was wondering what language? In Java, I'm up to Arrays, For loops, nested arrays, and nested for loops. Which basically means I can create a simple text-based Tic-Tac-Toe game. In C++, I'm a lot further behind. I stopped learning that a few months ago, but I was able to do things like make a calculator.

Soooooo... this is like Super Amazing Wagon Adventure? I think... Anyways, nope, I can't help. I would get in the way more than anything! XD Also you probably don't trust a guy who just joined the forums to help in a project anyways. I know I wouldn't

I know I wouldn't honestly, I'm not worried about you running off with the idea or whatever it is you're implying lol I'm just rushing to get a team together that I can use cohesively in order to make this game quick, but well It's mostly a portfolio game, but if it looks good enough we might put it on the App Store or whatever
